About Us - Profile

Freelance photographer and CPP, Susan Wacht Goralski, is a Connecticut native with a passion for photography. She is a 2014 PPA Bronze Photographer of the Year.

In 2015, Susan not only walked the stage at Imaging USA in Nashville for recognition as a 2014 PPA Bronze Photographer of the Year, she also earned her Certified Professional Photographer's degree (CPP) from Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  Currently, she is one of only 31 photographers in the state of Connecticut with an active CPP standing.

The International Photographic Competition in August of 2014 led to her four submitted images all Meriting and being accepted into the General Collection.  This was Susan's second year competing in the IPC. In 2013, she submitted three images: two Merited with one being accepted into the prestigious 2013 Loan Collection.  In 2011, Susan received the  Photographer of the Year Award in the Art-Electronic Imaging category for her work in HDR imagery (High Dynamic Range) from the Connecticut Professional Photographers Association (CTPPA).  Her HDR images can be seen in both the New Hartford Tourism and Recreational Brochures.

Over the last decade, she has attended workshops at Imaging USA, The Maine Photographic Institute, The Disney Institute, Tuscana Photographic Workshops, and The Nikon School of Photography. She has had the privilege of learning from esteemed photographers, Bob Krist and Pulitzer Prize Winner Eddy Adams.

Susan is a member of PPA, CTPPA, PPANE, NANPA, KelbyOne, and FVVA . Her photographs have appeared in numerous local travel brochures, newspapers, online travel sites, and magazines. Since 1999, she has donated images to promote tourism in Connecticut's Farmington Valley.

Susan gives back to the community through her volunteerism with the Connecticut Heart Gallery: helping to place children with special needs in loving homes; with Our Companions: working with rescue and hard to place animals; and, with the Littlest Heroes Project: providing images to families whose children are seriously ill.

Susan’s work has been published in the "2015 PPA Showcasr Collection Book", the "2013 PPA Loan Collection Book", “Best Bids”, Photographer’s Forum Annual Best of Photography, as well as in American Photo, Connecticut Woman’s Magazine, The Farmington Valley Post and Canton Life.
